Highcroft Exotic Vets is proud to offer one of the best exotic species veterinary services in the UK, providing both referral and first opinion care for all exotic species.
Located in Whitchurch, Bristol, our practice is easily accessible with disabled access and on-site parking. The main car park is designated for canine and exotic clients, while a side car park is available for feline clients.
Our dedicated exotic species team is highly qualified and passionately committed to the care of these special creatures, providing both first opinion and referral services all year round.

Our exotic species department is designed with the utmost care for the needs of the exotic species that we see, and includes, but is not exclusive to:
- Separate ward for exotic species to minimize stress
- Specialist equipment including vivaria, large accommodation for bonded companions, and aquaria
- State-of-the-art surgical suite for soft tissue, orthopedic, neutering, and dental procedures
- Full diagnostics with onsite lab, laser therapy, digital x-ray, CT scanner, endoscopy, ultrasound, and MRI access
- 24-hour care and exotic patient referral service available 365 days a year

Emergency support
In the event of an emergency, we are open 24 hours a day every day – which means that you can see a vet, here at the clinic at any time. If you have an emergency please call the practice and you will be advised what to do next.
Outside of our routine appointment hours, please only call if you are concerned that your pet may need urgent care.

MiNightVet are our on-site dedicated emergency service with full-time night staff who will be alert and effective even at unsociable hours. Our qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience and training in all aspects of urgent critical care.
The MiNightVet team are available to provide free telephone advice in the event that you feel that your pet may need urgent care, and they will provide you with an emergency consultation here at the practice if your pet needs to be seen out of hours.

Our Services
Consultations with our vets and nurses can be for routine check ups or arranged for a specific new or ongoing health concerns. Consultations are by appointment only.
Our trained vets and nurses can perform a full dental check, identifying any dental disease, its severity and making a recommendation for treatment. We have the facilities to perform dental procedures on-site.
We can perform lab work such as blood tests and imaging such as ultrasound and x-rays in practice that will help us diagnose more complex conditions.
Nobody expects an emergency; thankfully we have vets available to help, any time of the day or night via our Out of Hours service providers.
Performed by our vets, neutering is a routine surgical procedure which removes a pet’s ovaries or testicles, so they are no longer able to breed.
Our highly trained nurses run many routine healthcare clinics. They have a vast knowledge and experience when it comes to keeping your pets happy and healthy.
We offer a range of commonly performed surgeries such as neutering and lump removals in our theatres onsite.

We can perform detailed cardiology assessments of the heart and blood vessels. This can include blood pressure measurements, echocardiographs, ECG recording, x-rays and blood tests.

We have a specially trained vet that can perform acupuncture on your pet. Acupuncture is most commonly used to manage pain and help abdominal issues such as IBS, constipation and cystitis.
We have specially trained team members who can administer chemotherapy to treat certain types of cancer and other conditions in your pet.
Some of our vets are specifically interested in exotic species, meaning they can offer a GP service including basic health checks, routine healthcare and advice to exotic pets.
We have qualified Official Veterinarians who can provide you with the essential documents needed to travel abroad with your pet including Animal Health Certificates.
We have a specially trained team member who can perform physiotherapy on your pet. Our physiotherapist will create a personalised treatment plan to help reduce pain, improve mobility and prevent further injury of your pet by increasing muscle mass and tolerance.
We have a specially trained team member who can perform therapeutic laser therapy on your pet. It is used to manage a range of painful conditions by increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles and decreasing inflammation which helps to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and increase healing speed.
